After a bit of thought, today I have decided that I want to become a Vegan. It’s a decision that has for me seemingly come out of nowhere but I believe could really give me the opportunity to shape my diet into something that is more beneficial to not only my health, but also the environment.
After trawling the internet for vegan meal ideas and benefits of the vegan diet, I have decided to jump in and give it a try. I have previously been vegetarian for many years, starting in Primary School when a routine trip to a farm where I befriended a male calf that unknown to me at the time was about to be slaughtered, ended in me refusing to eat meat from then on. After many years of not eating meat, I slowly introduced it back into my diet but the thought of that calf has never left me. Continue reading
