Deciding To Become Vegan

After a bit of thought, today I have decided that I want to become a Vegan. It’s a decision that has for me seemingly come out of nowhere but I believe could really give me the opportunity to shape my diet into something that is more beneficial to not only my health, but also the environment.

After trawling the internet for vegan meal ideas and benefits of the vegan diet, I have decided to jump in and give it a try. I have previously been vegetarian for many years, starting in Primary School when a routine trip to a farm where I befriended a male calf that unknown to me at the time was about to be slaughtered, ended in me refusing to eat meat from then on. After many years of not eating meat, I slowly introduced it back into my diet but the thought of that calf has never left me. Continue reading

Welcome to 2016

I may be a couple of days late but Happy New Year! I’ve literally been flat out with work this week and have barely even stopped. I was so knackered yesterday that I actually fell asleep at about 6:30 pm eeek.

So now I’ve got a spare moment I thought now would be a good time to have a brief look back at 2015 and a glance forward to what the next year holds. It’s always pretty interesting this time of year as people post snippets of their lives, the hard times they’ve overcome, the things they’ve achieved and lessons they’ve learnt. I feel we can all learn a lot from one another’s life experiences and it’s refreshing when people are so frankly honest and unmediated. Continue reading
